In Da House.

Hot news just in! Scorching hot off the presses! Are you ready? Wha!? I said are you ready?! The airdate for our House Hunter's International NYC to Paris episode has just been announced! Please tune in on December 19th at 10:30 on HGTV to see me squeeze into our new home (pictured above) and all the chaos we get into as we look for the perfect home in Paris. I knew space was a problem here, but our new home might just be a little too small. I guess my midnight munchie habit of baguettes smeared with rich cheeses, and washed down with bubbly crémant finally caught up with me!

Here are some episode fun facts:

- The first day of shooting in Paris, I had flown in from New York only the day before and couldn't jump on Paris time in under 24 hours (crazy, right?). If my eyes look bloodshot and are half open in some scenes, it's not because I'm hungover. I was beyond exhausted.

- In fact, I was so tired that when we were shooting a scene in Oberkampf, and I fell flat on my face. Like hands out to protect my face from getting bashed in by the pavement. A crew of firemen and a nearby elderly man holding a baguette came to my rescue. It was so dramatic. You can see the scrapes on my knees and ankles throughout the entire episode.

Aurelien and the crew surprised me on the last day at Parc Vincennes with a birthday sing-along and a box LaDurée vanilla macarons. Trop chou!

- My mother makes an appearance. Oh yes. I have no idea what was edited but she came out with some great lines. She had the crew dying of laughter. I think she said "Who gives a 'bleep'?" like 5 times in her thick New York accent. You can hear me in the background screaming "Mom! Language!"

- Watching some of the playbacks I couldn't help but think of the old cliche that the camera adds ten (or twenty!) pounds, but holy merdeAurelien who is a twig even looks full. Good thing this isn't Janice Dickinson's modeling reality show otherwise I would have been screwed.

- Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! Do not read on if you want to wait for the episode to air! My striped shirt makes an appearance in a scene or two. I couldn't resist "Frenching" it up a bit.

We're really excited to watch the episode but unfortunately, we'll be receiving our copy several weeks after the episode airs, which means a lot of you will see it before us! I hope you enjoy it and please let me know how it came out! We have a few weeks though, until then...

I wish you all a lovely first weekend in December!
Let the holiday madness begin!

  1. Exciting! I hope this means I'll find out about the airdate for my episode soon because I think we shot around the same time as you. I'm guessing you've been getting daily harassment from people about when it will be on as well! :) Can't wait to see yours!

    1. Yours will air pretty soon, I'm sure. I did receive a lot of emails asking when it will air, especially from the local businesses around my mom's house. They're all so excited that they know a (wait for it) local celebrity. Geez.

Keep me posted on your air date too and try to get it on YouTbe when you get your copy. I'm dying to see yours as well!

  2. Sniffle. I wonder if we can watch it here via You Tube? I honestly think we're related. I tripped and fell the other day while walking up the stairs because I was too busy looking at Christmas lights to see the step.

    1. I'm going to try and get it up on YouTube when we have our copy. If YouTube lets me. I can imagine that there are tight copyright restrictions.

Tripping is so easy here in Paris! The sidewalks are uneven...yeah, it's sidewalk's fault. That's it. ; )

      Enjoy the Christmas lights!

  3. Ah, my birthday, as if I needed another reason to open champagne. I hope they did get your collapse on camera, that seems funny to see, and all the relevant drama--it could go viral, like Snooki's punch in the face. You never know.

    1. I think they stopped rolling and came to my aid. I don't remember..I was on the ground. I hope that doesn't make it to the episode, I don't want it to go viral like the lady who fell out of the bucket during the grape-squashing contest on the news. Do you remember that? I shamefully watched that clip over 15 times!

Happy early Birthday, JTB! I KNOW you have something simple yet fabulous planned. xo.

    1. There were some long pauses as we deliberated in the park. It was all so dramatic. You can catch us laughing. I had to pinch my arm to stop from giggling because we felt so cheesy during this part. Hahaha.

Seb's real name is Aurelien...might as well share that as you'll all find out anyway. : )

I've already put it on my calendar and I'll be watching. Didn't want to continue reading under *spoilers alert* so I guess I'll be surprised.

    1. We thought of that, but it will be 4:30am Paris time and I have to be at work at 8:30 the following morning, so it may be a bit much. We'll just have to wait for our copy to arrive and harass our friends and family for feedback. : )

  7. Very exciting! My mother and middle sister LOVE that show - they'll be thrilled to know that I sort of pseudo-know in that bloggers sort of way of pseudo-knowing someone who is on the show. You basically gave me an excuse to boast to everyone that I am actually like THIS TIGHT with a celebrity. :)

  11. I love this show. I'm so excited to see your episode. I was hoping it would air while I was in the US. It's hard to find episodes online when I am in France.

    1. It's hard to find a lot of things online here. I end up just buying the DVDs used on line because I can't deal with the frustration. (for example: Golden Girls - those broads are so hard to find!!)

I will put our episode on YouTube once we get the DVD and send out the link! : )

    1. AHHH! It's finally airing!! When they told us back in September that it would probably air around the holidays, it seemed like so far away and now it's here! I'm so nervous, Duchesse.

We're trimming our tree too! Ours is a little mini mini too! Will post photos!

Btw - Someone is coming to Paris soon....is she excited?

    2. Someone is ecstatic to be going to Paris soon and to finally get a break from the studies long enough to enjoy life again for a few weeks! It's been on average 90-hour weeks for the last seven months... Somebody's a bit weary:)

  15. Oh, this is so exciting! Now we just have to figure out a way to watch it in Paris. Will they send you a DVD of your episode so that we can have an "Ella Coquine and Seb" Premiere Gala with a red carpet and throngs of reporters (aka bloggers)?!

Thanks for sharing the episode fun facts! With regards to the striped shirt, does this mean that Jacques O'Lantern will be appearing topless since your wearing his signature look?

I can't wait to see it!!!

    1. We will get a copy in a few weeks. I thought about doing a screening but the idea of having people come over to watch me makes me feel a little cheesy. I'm diva but not THAT diva. J.Lo would be so disappointed...

Once we get it, I can get it on YouTube and send the link out to everyone!

MK - Jacques is dead. French pumpkins only last a week. It's been hard on us but we're getting through it... : P

  19. Cannot wait to watch this! Maybe you can do a blog announcement of when you will upload it just to make sure we can drop everything and watch it before the Youtube police get to it.

And what were you doing in that tiny house??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Gwan...that's the house we hunted. Seriously. It's a little tight and the windows need to be sealed since it's cold now, but this is what we could afford on our budget. They're not kidding when they say Paris is pricey!

Can't wait for you to see the inside tour in the episode! Will keep you posted!

      :)
